APOEL plays its home games at the GSP Stadium, which has a capacity of 22,859 spectators. The team's traditional colors are blue and yellow, earning them the nickname "Thrylos" (The Legend).
Throughout its history, APOEL has been a dominant force in Cypriot football. The club has won a record 29 national championships, 21 Cypriot Cups, and 13 Cypriot Super Cups. Their first major success came in 1936 when they won their first league title, which was followed by four consecutive championships under Hungarian coach József Künstler.
APOEL's success extends beyond domestic competitions. The club has regularly participated in European tournaments, with their most notable achievement coming in the 2011-12 season when they reached the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League. APOEL boasts one of the largest and most passionate fan bases in Cyprus. The club's main rivals are Omonia Nicosia, with whom they contest the Nicosia derby, one of the most fiercely contested fixtures in Cypriot football.
