This transition from African to European football at such a young age was a significant step in his development, exposing him to a different style of play and higher level of competition.
Professional career

However, his progress was temporarily halted in March 2022 when he suffered a severe leg injury during a Svenska Cupen match against Hammarby. This setback sidelined him for eight months, a significant portion of the 2022 season.Despite this setback, Häcken showed faith in Traoré's potential by offering him a new contract, which he signed on September 26, 2022. His return from injury coincided with Häcken's successful campaign, as they went on to win the 2022 Allsvenskan title. The loan deal included an option for Nantes to make the move permanent. At Nantes, Traoré hoped to rediscover the goalscoring form he had shown in Sweden. However, his time in France also proved challenging. He made 14 appearances in Ligue 1 and one in the national cup, but failed to find the back of the net. Despite the lack of goals, this experience in one of Europe's top five leagues provided valuable learning opportunities for the young forward. On July 22, 2024, Traoré made another move, this time joining Swiss Super League club FC Basel for an undisclosed fee. He signed a four-year contract with Basel, committing his future to the club until 2028.
