The Belarus national football team represents Belarus in men's international football and is governed by the Football Federation of Belarus. Known as Белыя крылы (Bielyia kryly), meaning "The White Wings," the team plays its home matches at Dinamo Stadium in Minsk. Since gaining independence in 1991, Belarus has yet to qualify for a FIFA World Cup or UEFA European Championship.
Belarus played its first match against Lithuania on July 20, 1992, and the first FIFA-recognized game was against Ukraine on October 28, 1992. Their first victory came in a match against Luxembourg on October 12, 1994. Despite participating in various qualifying campaigns, they have struggled to advance to major tournaments. The closest they came to qualification was during the Euro 2004 qualifiers, where they lost seven of their eight matches.
The team has had some success in minor competitions, winning the LG Cup in 2002 and the Malta International Tournament in both 2004 and 2008. In recent years, they achieved a notable performance in the UEFA Nations League, winning their group in the 2018–19 edition and reaching the playoffs for Euro 2020 qualifying, although they ultimately lost to Georgia.
As of October 2024, Belarus is ranked 97th in FIFA rankings, with their highest ranking being 36th in February 2011. Alyaksandr Kulchy holds the record for most caps with 102 appearances, while Maksim Romaschenko is the top scorer with 20 goals.
