Club Athletico Paranaense, commonly known as Athletico Paranaense or simply Athletico, is a professional football club based in Curitiba, Paraná, Brazil. Founded on March 26, 1924, Athletico has established itself as one of the most prominent clubs in southern Brazil. The club plays its home games at the Arena da Baixada, a modern stadium with a capacity of approximately 42,000 spectators. Athletico's colors are red and black, and they are nicknamed "Furacão" (Hurricane) due to their aggressive playing style.
Throughout its history, Athletico Paranaense has achieved significant success both domestically and internationally. The club has won the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A (Brazilian national league) once, in 2001, which marked a significant milestone in the club's history.
