FC Augsburg is a professional football club based in Augsburg, Bavaria, Germany. The club currently competes in the Bundesliga, the top tier of German football. Augsburg plays its home games at the WWK Arena, which has a capacity of 30,660 spectators.
Founded in 1907, FC Augsburg has a long history but spent much of it playing in lower divisions. The club's rise to prominence is relatively recent; they achieved promotion to the Bundesliga for the first time in 2011.
