Portuguese football team.

Futebol Clube do Porto, commonly known as FC Porto or simply Porto, is one of Portugal's most successful football clubs based in Porto. Established on September 28, 1893, FC Porto is one of the oldest clubs in Portugal and has built an illustrious history filled with domestic championships and European accolades. The team plays its home matches at Estádio do Dragão, which opened in 2003 and has a capacity of around 50,033 spectators.

Porto’s colors are blue and white; they are often referred to as "Os Dragões" (The Dragons), inspired by the dragon depicted on their crest which symbolizes strength and power. The club is renowned for its passionate fan base that supports them fervently during matches both at home and away.

Throughout its history, FC Porto has established itself as one of Portugal’s "Big Three" alongside SL Benfica and Sporting Lisbon. Domestically, Porto has won numerous Primeira Liga titles (over 30) along with multiple Taça de Portugal trophies. Their first league title was secured during the inaugural season of Primeira Liga in 1934-35.

FC Porto’s golden era came under legendary coach José Mourinho in the early 2000s when they achieved unprecedented success both domestically and internationally. Under Mourinho’s guidance, Porto won back-to-back league titles (2002-03 & 2003-04), culminating in winning the UEFA Champions League title in 2004 by defeating AS Monaco—a victory that solidified their status on Europe’s biggest stage.

In addition to their Champions League triumphs (they have won it twice), Porto has also captured several other prestigious trophies including multiple UEFA Cups (now known as UEFA Europa League) and UEFA Super Cups throughout their history. This success on European soil reflects not only their domestic prowess but also their ability to compete against some of Europe’s elite clubs.

The rivalry between FC Porto and SL Benfica is one of Portuguese football’s fiercest rivalries known as "O Clássico." Matches between these two teams attract significant attention from fans across Portugal.
