FK Bodø/Glimt is a professional football club based in Bodø, Norway. Founded in 1916, the club has experienced a remarkable rise to prominence in recent years, becoming one of the most exciting teams in Norwegian football. Known as "De Gule" (The Yellow Ones), Bodø/Glimt plays its home matches at the Aspmyra Stadion, which has a capacity of around 8,300 spectators.
For much of its history, Bodø/Glimt was considered a modest club, often bouncing between the top two tiers of Norwegian football. However, the team's fortunes changed dramatically in the late 2010s under the leadership of head coach Kjetil Knutsen. In 2020, Bodø/Glimt won their first-ever Eliteserien title, doing so in spectacular fashion by setting a new points record and scoring over 100 goals in the process.
The club's traditional colors are yellow and black, which are prominently featured in their home kit. Bodø/Glimt's success is particularly noteworthy given the city's small population and the club's relatively modest resources compared to some of their rivals.
One of Bodø/Glimt's most impressive achievements came in the 2021-22 UEFA Europa Conference League, where they reached the quarter-finals, defeating several high-profile teams along the way, including a memorable 6-1 victory over AS Roma in the group stage. This European run helped put the club on the international football map and showcased their attractive, attacking style of play.
Despite being located in the Arctic Circle, making it one of the northernmost top-flight football clubs in the world, Bodø/Glimt has managed to create a strong footballing culture.
