The France national under-20 football team, known as Les Bleuets (The Little Blues), represents France in international youth competitions and is managed by the French Football Federation. The team primarily competes in the FIFA U-20 World Cup, as there is no dedicated UEFA U-20 tournament.
France has a storied history in the FIFA U-20 World Cup, having made eight appearances since their first in 1977. Their most notable achievement came in 2013 when they won the tournament, marking them as world champions at this age level. The team reached the semifinals for the first time in 2011, and they have also made it to the quarterfinals in 1997 and 2001.
The current head coach is Bernard Diomède, who leads a squad filled with talented young players. France's U-20 team has recorded significant victories, including their biggest win of 6-0 against Indonesia in November 2022. However, they have faced challenges, such as their biggest defeat, a 4-1 loss to Colombia in 2011.
In addition to the World Cup, the team participates in other tournaments like the Toulon Tournament and the Mediterranean Games. The squad is known for producing players who often transition to the senior national team, reflecting France's commitment to youth development.
