Italian football team.
Football Club Internazionale Milano, commonly known as Inter Milan or simply Inter, is one of Italy's most successful and storied football clubs. Founded on March 9, 1908, Inter is based in Milan and competes in Serie A, the top division of Italian football.
Inter plays its home matches at the iconic San Siro stadium, officially known as Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, which has a capacity of over 80,000 spectators. The stadium is shared with their city rivals AC Milan, making it one of the most famous football grounds in the world.
The club's colors are black and blue, earning them the nickname "Nerazzurri" (The Black and Blues). Inter is one of the most supported clubs in Italy and has a significant following worldwide.
Throughout its history, Inter has been one of the most successful clubs in Italian and European football. They have won 19 Serie A titles, 8 Coppa Italia trophies, and 7 Supercoppa Italiana titles. In European competitions, Inter has won the European Cup/UEFA Champions League three times (1963–64, 1964–65, and 2009–10), the UEFA Cup/Europa League three times, and the FIFA Club World Cup once in 2010.
Inter's most successful period in recent history came under the management of José Mourinho, who led the team to a historic treble in 2010, winning the Serie A, Coppa Italia, and UEFA Champions League in the same season. This achievement made Inter the first Italian club to win the treble.
The club has a fierce rivalry with AC Milan, with whom they contest the Derby della Madonnina, one of the most famous derbies in world football. Matches against Juventus, known as the Derby d'Italia, are also highly anticipated fixtures in the Italian football calendar.
Inter has been home to many legendary players throughout its history, including Giuseppe Meazza, Sandro Mazzola, Javier Zanetti, and more recently, players like Zlatan Ibrahimović, Wesley Sneijder, and Samuel Eto'o.
In recent years, Inter has re-established itself as a dominant force in Italian football. They won the Serie A title in 2020-21, ending Juventus' nine-year reign as champions. The club has also been a regular participant in the UEFA Champions League, consistently competing at the highest level of European football.
