Jagiellonia Białystok is a professional football club based in Białystok, Poland. Founded in 1920, the club plays its home games at the Stadion Miejski, which has a capacity of 22,386 spectators. Jagiellonia's traditional colors are yellow and red, earning them the nickname "Jaga" or "The Yellow-Reds."
Throughout its history, Jagiellonia has experienced both success and challenges. The club spent many years in the lower divisions of Polish football before achieving promotion to the Ekstraklasa, Poland's top division, in 1987. Since then, Jagiellonia has established itself as a regular fixture in the top flight, with occasional forays into European competition.
Jagiellonia's most successful period came in the late 2000s and early 2010s. The club won its first major trophy in 2010, claiming the Polish Cup after defeating Pogoń Szczecin in the final. This victory qualified them for the UEFA Europa League, marking their debut in European competition. The same year, Jagiellonia also won the Polish Super Cup, defeating Lech Poznań.
In the 2016-17 season, Jagiellonia achieved their highest-ever finish in the Ekstraklasa, ending the campaign as runners-up. This success allowed them to participate in the qualifying rounds of the UEFA Europa League. The club has consistently finished in the top half of the table in recent years, establishing themselves as one of Poland's stronger teams.
Jagiellonia's main rivals are Legia Warsaw and Lech Poznań, with matches against these teams often being highly anticipated fixtures in the Polish football calendar.
