American soccer team.

New England Revolution is a professional soccer club based in the Greater Boston area, competing in Major League Soccer (MLS) as a member of the Eastern Conference. Founded in 1994 as one of the league's ten charter clubs, the Revolution began play in 1996 in the inaugural MLS season. The club's colors are navy blue, red, and white, which are prominently featured in their home kit.

The Revolution play their home games at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, which they share with the NFL's New England Patriots. Both teams are owned by Robert Kraft, who has been instrumental in the development of soccer in the United States. While Gillette Stadium is not a soccer-specific venue, it has been the Revolution's home since 2002 and has a capacity of 65,878 for soccer matches.

Throughout their history, the New England Revolution have been one of the most consistent teams in MLS, regularly qualifying for the playoffs and contending for major honors. The club has reached the MLS Cup final five times (2002, 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2014), but has yet to win the league's ultimate prize. This string of runner-up finishes has earned them the unfortunate nickname of "Buffalo Bills of MLS," referencing the NFL team that lost four consecutive Super Bowls.

Despite not winning an MLS Cup, the Revolution have tasted success in other competitions. They won the U.S. Open Cup in 2007 and the North American SuperLiga in 2008. The club also claimed their first Supporters' Shield in 2021, finishing with the best regular-season record in MLS.

The Revolution have featured many notable players throughout their history. Taylor Twellman, the club's all-time leading scorer, became a Revolution legend during his eight-year stint with the team. Other key figures in the club's history include Steve Ralston, Shalrie Joseph, and Matt Reis. In recent years, players like Carles Gil, the 2021 MLS MVP, have continued to elevate the team's profile.
