Sporting Clube de Braga, commonly known as SC Braga or simply Braga, is a professional football club based in Braga, Portugal. Founded on January 19, 1921, Braga has established itself as one of the most prominent clubs in Portuguese football outside of the traditional "Big Three" of Benfica, Porto, and Sporting CP.

Braga competes in the Primeira Liga, the top tier of Portuguese football, and plays its home matches at the Estádio Municipal de Braga, also known as "The Quarry" due to its unique design carved into the side of a quarry. The stadium, which opened in 2003, has a capacity of approximately 30,000 spectators.

The club's colors are red and white, and they are nicknamed "Os Arcebispos" (The Archbishops) and "Os Guerreiros do Minho" (The Minho Warriors). Braga's crest features elements from the city's coat of arms, including the image of Virgin Mary holding baby Jesus, dressed in red instead of the city's traditional blue.

In recent years, Braga has emerged as a formidable force in Portuguese football, often challenging the dominance of the "Big Three." The club has won several domestic trophies, including three Taça de Portugal titles and three Taça da Liga titles.

Braga's rise to prominence in the 21st century has been marked by significant success in European competitions. In 2011, the club reached the final of the UEFA Europa League, losing narrowly to fellow Portuguese side Porto. This run to the final included notable victories over teams like Liverpool and Benfica.

The club has also participated in the UEFA Champions League, making their debut in the group stage during the 2010-11 season.
