Torino Football Club, commonly known as Torino or simply Toro, is a professional football club based in Turin, Italy. The club was founded in 1906 and currently competes in Serie A, the top division of Italian football. Torino plays its home matches at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino, which has a capacity of 28,000 spectators.

Torino's colors are maroon and white, earning them the nickname "I Granata" (The Maroons). The club's emblem features a rampant bull, which is also the symbol of the city of Turin. This has led to another popular nickname, "Il Toro" (The Bull).

Throughout its history, Torino has experienced both great triumphs and profound tragedies. The club has won seven Serie A titles, with five of these coming consecutively between 1943 and 1949. This period marked the era of the "Grande Torino," widely regarded as one of the greatest teams in Italian football history. Tragically, this legendary team was almost entirely wiped out in the Superga air disaster of 1949, a event that deeply affected not only the club but the entire nation.

In addition to their league successes, Torino has also claimed five Coppa Italia titles. Their most recent major trophy came in 1993 when they won the Coppa Italia. On the European stage, Torino reached the final of the UEFA Cup (now Europa League) in 1992 but narrowly lost to Ajax.

Torino's biggest rivalry is with Juventus, their cross-city neighbors. The Derby della Mole, as it is known, is one of the most passionate and historic rivalries in Italian football.

In recent years, Torino has established itself as a mid-table Serie A team, occasionally challenging for European qualification spots. The club has shown resilience in bouncing back from relegation and financial difficulties in the early 2000s. As of the 2023-24 season, Torino continues to compete in Serie A under the ownership of Urbano Cairo and the management of Ivan Jurić.
